Our Escorts
We have a small team of dedicated escorts who have a strong sense of adventure and an ability to think on their feet when unforeseen circumstances happen. The guides will take care of all porterage, checking-in at hotels and airports, handling of border formalities, tipping, reconfirmation of flights and any other details that often stress an independent traveller. Please click on the photo of each of the tour escorts to read their profile.

Gerry Gibbs
Gerry was a travel consultant with the National Bank for 17-years after which she was a sales rep for World Travel Headquarters and Stewart Moffat Travel part time.
It was whilst she was at Stewart Moffat that she had her first experience of tour managing when she was asked by Phil Hoffmann (manager at the time) to take a tour group to Egypt. She loved the experience and decided then and there that this was to be her future and she started her own business finding, training and placing tour managers.
This led to her freelancing for different companies and then Far Horizons came along. Her first tour was the Asian Winter Spectacular in February 2001 when she accompanied Martin to see 'how he operated'. Due to Martin having to return prematurely to Australia she was thrown in the deep end and took over, passed the test and has continued to add more and more tours to her repertoire every year.
After the winter spectacular came Panama, Havana; The Caucases; Ethiopia; Yemen; Uganda,Zanzibar; Timbuctoo; Arctic Horizons; Casablanca, Cairo and reverse-Namibia, Botswana; Russia and the Baltics-the Balkans – Iceland Greenland and the Faroe Islands; Albania and northern Greece-islands of the Mediterranean; Angkor Wat to Mandalay, Argentina; Patagonia plus many other destinations with prior companies.
The pleasure Gerry gets from taking care of business and her group members has afforded her to make many wonderful friends and to see most of the world. She has always said she is 'a very fortunate woman'.
Her most interesting character that she has met on her journeys would be the Princess Stephania on the island of Corsica when she was fortunate enough to be invited with her group to attend a dinner party at the palace.
